The Cereus - A cactus with a lesson to biographer Family Video

But what is a cereus? And what has to do with the video section?

I'm actually involves work as "night blooming cereus." It 's a constant, small slender cactus we have here in Arizona. What is special is that it blooms only once a year, usually sometime between May and July.

It's actually a pretty neat event. A plant is like a stick died suddenly sprout stems topped with golf ball-size buds that open after all in a beautifulwhite flowers. They last only for a night and morning, then wilt.

This is how insignificant Cereus that my wife and I did not even know we had two of them in our garden - until we saw during a trip to the Tucson Botanical Gardens, and realized, "Hey, so this is what this strange plant is in our yard! "

Last year was the first time was on a heavy "See Cereus." When the buds open, I was ready with a camera to document the event. Just last night our Cereus bloom again -and my wife and I spent some time admiring the flowers that grace with their presence only once a year.

So, what this cactus is a learned with biographies and video? The flower of Cereus is a special event. If you blink, you lose. It 's a rare event that I do it through pictures that I can now share documents with others inspired. The stories, our lives and our family histories are also rare and special and deserve to be preserved on video, isenjoy now and to switch to other family members.

And do not wait too long, in the blink of an eye on your precious storytellers and their stories may be lost forever. So I appeal to you, your family should be recognized storyteller, while in "full bloom". A difference Cereus, you may not have the chance next year.

The management team of the Business Plan - includes not only the CV

Even the best new concept or existing plan will fail if executed poorly. The management team of the business plan should be to the investor why the key company personnel are "qualified" to run to test the business model.

The team of the administration section should be read biographies of key team members and detail their responsibilities. It 'important that these biographies not only continue that work in the preparation and previousTitle and responsibilities of team members. Rather, biographies should highlight the most significant of the past, individuals have held and specific successes in each. These successes could launch and grow new businesses or managing divisions of established companies.

Team member biographies should be tailored for the growing company. For example, a start-up point to the success of the administration of starting and growingCompanies. A more mature company should emphasize how team members have worked successfully as part of larger companies.

Depending on the level of society, major functional areas of the team are missing. This is acceptable provided that the plan clearly defines the roles these individuals play and fundamental characteristics of the individuals who are hired. However, it is generally not favorable if it lacks the staff to ultra-criticalRoles. For example, a plan that should not really try to play in funding marketing without a stellar marketing team.

The team of the administration section should include biographies of the Advisory Board Company and / or Board of Directors. As with a well-known consultant / board members adds credibility to the business plan, is highly effective to explain how these advisors has a direct impact on society through policy advice and / or providing conduits to key clients,Partners, suppliers, etc.

In summary, the management team section of the business plan a chance to prove to investors that your company has the talent to succeed. Rather than waste this opportunity to show people just continue, that could be included in the appendix, the section should be used to explain exactly how the team is uniquely qualified to run the company in its present condition.

The brightest Jewel - A Family Love Story by Mariam Henley

Be aware cartoons Mrs. Henley, I could not wait to open my advanced reading copy of "The brightest jewel." For those who do with comics This is a story with a complex plot, which is shown in cartoon form. It has a beginning and an end and is mature readers.

The graphics memory is a powerful look of a woman's emotional experience with international adoption. Also chronicles how the process affected their relationships with familyand friends, especially his father.

Henley allows the reader an honest look in his personal life without pulling punches - not an easy thing to do. I have heard with their own fears, always angry with the red tape and endless waiting. But I'm also happy when they brought home their beautiful new son. , Tells the reader how we were old friends. I felt like I knew her.

Henley is a compelling storyteller and a talented artist. I was hooked on the first page. L 'Story, is sentimental without heartbreaking, funny and witty, without noise. The drawings are the backbone of the book effectively convey the substance of the story.

And it's an exciting story on many levels. I particularly liked the graphic tribute to his father. In the month of October 1944 was a 24 year old Marine lieutenant. The letter he wrote home that killed his three best friends, as I had a shell bursting into tears.

But rest assured, all is not sad.dry humor through Henley. It 'difficult to convey the visual jokes, but being a cat person has been my preferred design of the representation of the merger of two family cats - four cats placed in a mixer.

I read the story in one sitting, and I know I will again assume for a second reading. E 'on sale in September, his 15th, and I recommend it.

Living in Saudi royal family as a teacher

When I was in my 20s a lot of Americans, among whom was also from members of my friends lived in Saudi Arabia, because their employment brought them there. There was little concern for personal safety at that time.

I was fascinated by the previous comments on the book cover the inauguration, a American teacher in a Saudi palace into a library, partly for the memories of people I met, lived and worked in Saudi decades. I'm glad I did because the book is a fascinating Kristen Deckerto read.

Kristen and her husband Randy has accepted an assignment to live and work in Saudi Arabia as a mentor to a royal family in Riyadh in Saudi. The Deckers were very much accepted and respected by the Prince and Princess and their children enjoyed their classes and learning experiences. But without warning, the Deckers falsely accused and convicted outside the country. They had to pack their things and flee the country at night for fear of being thrown into prison.

I learned a lot aboutSaudi Arabian culture, heritage, history and leadership by reading this book. Most fascinating grip of Islamic fundamentalists have had on the population, including the Royal Tour. Saudi leaders are very moderate and open to the West, but can not escape the influence of fundamentalists and handle.

Decker also stressed that women are only very few rights have the right to have their money, bank accounts and jewelry. The women wear jewelry symbolizingWoman's Worth with her husband and gives a means of survival if her husband dies.

The revelation has many similarities with the famous musical The King and I one big exception - the wise Decker is a fact, not fiction. I recommend this book on palace intrigue and the life of royalty.

Tony Earley is a writer so good at his craft that you don't read his words so much as inhale them. His first book of nonfiction is one of those unexpected classics, like Anne Lamott's Traveling Mercies, in which a great writer rips open his or her heart and takes the reader inside for a no-holds-barred tour. Born thirty-nine years ago, Earley was too late to be a Baby Boomer, too soon to be a Gen Xer. Although he grew up in the North Carolina mountains, he says "I go around telling anyone who will listen that I am from the country, but deep down I know it's a lie. I grew up on Gilligan's Island, in Mayberry, I'm not sure where."

Tony Earley's view of the world is from the edge, at the cusp. Which is what this collection of personal essays is about-about how he stands with one foot in the rural mountains and the other in the Brady Bunch's split-level, about how he's neither an adherent to the fundamentalist Christianity of his boyhood nor an unbeliever, and about how hard it is to find your place in the world without letting go of all you came from, without letting go of your authenticity.

In a prose style that is deceptively simple (E. B. White comes to mind), Earley confronts the big things-God, death, civilization, family, his own clinical depression-with wit and grace, without looking away or smirking. Earley has clearly lost patience with irony, for his is a journey from faith, through disbelief, and into a new faith . . . and a new family.

A solid and dependable author of nascent southern literature... - M. P. Moore - An ex-expatriate repatriated, by choice, back to the U.S.
At least that's what I tell myself when I sit down to drink up the words and prose that Tony Earley puts on paper when he's writing and not teaching over at Vanderbilt University! (I'm just playing, of course.) Earley's works, two short collections of short stories and the stupendously written "Jim the Boy" evoke a deft blend of early Ernest Hemingway with the Southern traditions and common sense of Flannery O'Connor and Carson McCullers, among others. This collection "Somehow Form a Family: Stores That Are Mostly True" is merely another solid example of his work ethos and ability to spin a good yarn. I've read it several times and it becomes more enjoyable, as familiar and comfortable as a worn pair of shoes, each and every time. You should treat yourself to the experience, too.

The amazing story of the thirteen-year-old surfer girl who lost her arm in a shark attack but never lost her faith -- and of her triumphant return to competitive surfing.

They say Bethany Hamilton has saltwater in her veins. How else could one explain the tremendous passion that drives her to surf? How else could one explain that nothing -- not even the loss of her arm in a horrific shark attack -- could come between her and the waves?

That Halloween morning in Kauai, Hawaii -- a glorious part of the world, where it's hard to deny the divine -- Bethany responded to the shark's stealth attack with the calm of a girl with God on her side. Pushing pain and panic aside, she immediately began to paddle with one arm, focusing on a single thought: "Get to the beach...." Rushed to the hospital, where her father, Tom Hamilton, was about to undergo knee surgery, Bethany found herself taking his spot in the O.R. It's the kind of coincidence that isn't mere coincidence to the Hamilton family, a clan whose motto could easily be "the family that surfs and prays together stays together." To them it was a sign someone had a greater plan than the one they'd been working on themselves -- which had been to scrape together whatever resources they could to help Bethany rise to the top of her sport. When the first thing Bethany wanted to know after surgery was "When can I surf again?" it became clear that her unfaltering spirit and determination were part of a greater story -- a tale of courage and faith that this modest and soft-spoken girl would come to share with the world.

Soul Surfer is a moving account of Bethany's life as a young surfer, her recovery in the wake of the shark attack, the adjustments she's made to her unique surfing style, her unprecedented bid for a top showing in the World Surfing Championships, and, most fundamentally, her belief in God. It is a story of girl power and spiritual grit that shows that the body is no more essential to surfing -- perhaps even less so -- than the soul.

Helped me focus on what's important - Brad Teare - Providence, Utah, USA
I get blue once in a while and resort to reading books like this to snap me out of it. I guessed this would be inspirational and sure enough there is a lot of positive energy here. Bethany Hamilton is an amazing woman with a lot of wisdom to share. The book is a quick read (210 short pages) and I read it in one sitting. The story centers on a shark attack while surfing but the details are not too grim for young readers. I give high marks to the author for telling a compelling story suitable for young and old readers of all faiths.

So did the book help me get over my blues? Yes, it did and gave me lots to think about. Thank you Bethany!
