"The Dirt" Review

Perhaps you have heard of a 90 "Hair Metal" band Motley Crue heard the name. Maybe you have some amazing / disgusting / amazing / outrageous things that stood up for the tour while. "The Dirt" is the award-winning book by author Neil Strauss in the lives of four people from which to study this band more popular.

What I like most about this book is the way it is written from the perspective of all four band colleagues. Each chapter is toldanother figure, and go back and forth, you get a really rounded profile of what was happening. One of the funniest sections of the book is when all describe how they met each other, and what they thought of each other when they met for the first time. As expected, they hold nothing back, and the results are pretty funny!

The book has had much time to write clearly, and it is known that Strauss spent nearly a year on tour with Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, TommyLee and Mick Mars. While there are many highlights in the book and in time of laughs, there are also many low points. For example, it is known that the band would often go on binges and world-class drugs would be used. Of course, years of drug addiction and alcoholism can take their toll, and there are some harrowing stories that had me literally crying. By the end of the book you really get a feel for each band member, and almost the feeling of knowing. A fantasticReading but not for the faint of heart.
