Book Review - "when men Win Glory" by Jon Krakauer

Jon Krakauer, author, known for his non-fiction and biographical writing, has written a new book deal with a very difficult subject in today's world. His main theme in his new book, "When people gain Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman," the epic rise and fall of NFL star Pat Tillman. But there's more, the book as an extraordinary biography. The author speaks in detail about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, a soldier's life from beginning to end, andPolitics from around the world in the last 30 years. Krakauer has clearly done his homework in writing this book, the result is second to none, non-fiction account of an extraordinary man.

Pat Tillman was a very active boy and his brother Kevin, as raised in California. Both were athletic and aggressive and always playing outside. Kevin finally went to Minor League Baseball, the game was never too much, while Pat continued, have a greatCollege and pro football career. Tillman played football at Arizona State University, where he gained much attention as below, but extremely aggressive defenders. At one point, she began her courageous and reckless conduct on the field the attention of NFL scouts after his senior year he was joined with the Arizona Cardinals. Nobody should also make the team because of his short stature.

Tillman was in a big way during training camp, starting a practice fewGames security, and possibly earn a spot in the starting defensive installation. Every year, it seemed better when he meets running backs and receivers with everything he had, and win recognition as one of the best backup in the NFL. While continuing to improve and work harder in the NFL, but there were other ongoing problems in the world weighs on the mind were Pat. In particular, the U.S. had just gone to war with Iraq and Afghanistan after 11:09and the United States was very agitated and angry with the Taliban and other extremist groups.

Tillman was moved by the attacks on U.S. soil, and the decision to hunt down the Taliban, who retire to his illustrious NFL career and decided in consultation with the Army Rangers. Pat was given a massive increase in earnings NFL and had just married his wife, but had a burning desire in him, but he was right, and had to go overseas and fight for his country. He also was notgo alone. Pat and his brother Kevin to join him. Kevin has been lowered slightly less than the career of baseball season and the same class as his brother, Army Ranger, to serve their time together throughout the army.

The army was not what Pat and Kevin had expected when they leave their family and friends back in California to fight for their country. What they found was a group of immature, annoying children, no prospects in life, except the army, so joincould have a salary. The Tillman brothers, along with other older men in his class were always told to calm the young and act their age. Although it has always annoyed by the immaturity around them, have always thought of the prospect, in the battle and knows what it means to fight for their lives trying to someone who lives outside of them. This idea has inspired Pat and Kevin and they kept going all the time. He also knew Patthat his loving wife waiting for him at home, and every night, Pat would write in his diary how he lost his wife and their eternal love for him. Pat wanted nothing more than to return home to live their lives and should not be left behind.

One of the main points of this book, Krakauer was born so the government used military information and manipulate it for their own good. For example, Krakauer talks in depth the case of Jessica Lynch in Iraq. Lynch was taken into aIraqi hospital fighting for his life and is tortured by Iraqi forces, but this was not the case. This idea of Lynch is fighting for his life has been manufactured from high level government officials directly under the command of George Bush. If Bush and his officials were able to take advantage of Lynch and his wonderful aspect an American who somehow survived the worst possible conditions, would the rest of the American public to build morale and support for the war and BushAdministration more.

Krakauer uses the Jessica Lynch, for example, as a building block for the death of Pat Tillman. Pat and his brother Kevin were riding in a convoy of military vehicles in a hostile area in Afghanistan, where one of their Humvee vehicle stopped and he needed a tow truck. The army has a policy in which a military vehicle can never be left behind, where the enemy can capture, so men had to sit and how to get the vehicle from the enemy. FinallyPAT commanders asked the group, which has divided the group into two smaller groups so that they are vulnerable, so the truck could be placed on a main road and a small town nearby could be deleted, Taliban fighters at sunset. All in group A, considered this a bad idea, but I had to continue because not obey the orders of their higher high ranking people

The decision to dissolve the group has been unhappy very quickly. Pat group was attacked in a hurryTaliban troops shooting from higher ground, so the pure chaos among the young and inexperienced Rangers. The Rangers left the machines in the most learned in training and Tillman and another soldier ran to get to a higher level at an angle of more action. The radio communication was nonexistent because everyone was trying to talk and cry at the same time. Many of the soldiers fired and had to be blind "trigger-happy. One of the younger soldiers automatically liablecannon mounted on a vehicle shot towards what Pat wave of panic and arms. What happened next is one of the most controversial events of the war with Afghanistan and is still secret.

While Pat Tillman and his fellow Rangers were hiding on the hill behind a small rock, waving his arms desperately for the other Rangers to stop their firing, Tillman was shot three times in the head above the eyebrow. There was noDoubt that he died immediately, and all the Rangers had to decide what to do with her body. They decided not his brother Kevin, and he said the dark mysterious body down from the hills also brought in Kevin's profile. Only much later did the family of Kevin and Pat remaining to discover that Pat was killed by "friendly fire". Needless to say, Pat's family was also angry. It was not only from "friendly fire" treaty is dead, was not in conformity with the standard protocol of the Army. His clothes were burned before his autopsy in order to hide the evidence, and his autopsy was never signed off on the basis of secret evidence that the medical experts disagreed and cited. Despite all the mistreatment of American hero Pat Tillman, that Bush and his colleagues had examined the administrators do a good opportunity, another example of Pat Tillman, like Jessica Lynch in Iraq.

Tillman's funeral and burial were to appear on every major news station, including ESPN. Nothingmentioned about his mistreatment and death from friendly fire or have been made clear on what the American public that Tillman died at the hands of a Taliban soldier. The surveys were conducted by the army and controlled by Tillman family, but senior military officials were all just so they could lie to save their work and reputation. The soldiers responsible for the murder of Pat actually said that they only do their work, and never once said he would be able toa bit 'of trigger-happy. Worse, most of these soldiers and commanders who have little or no lie, out of a possible downgrading of the Army Rangers general reference for the army. mother and brother of Pat print army continue to work and to respond to fraud in recent years but still has not been a lot of responsibility assumed by all the army.

Pat Tillman will remain in history as an American model. There are many people in thisWorld that he gave up to go more than three million dollars to fight for his life in a country like Afghanistan. Not only that, Pat spends more money, but gave precious time with his beloved wife, friends and family. Now, instead of remembering him for the brave warriors, great player, good friend, loving husband and will also be the fact that the bear is still alive and there is a huge gray cloud overshadowed the last days of his life. Krakowhas done an excellent job representing Pat Tillman as a legend of our time, but as a human being as well. His gaze on the private life of Tillman, to his personal diaries and recollections of friends and family of Pat a perfect picture of how Pat Tillman lived his life. This book, long, simple and 'to 5 of 5 reviews.
