"Do you think who are you?" Memoir marks a memorable Two Incorporated Myers' hate

"My mother had only one friend and married him. She said she had met at school when he was fourteen, and was fifteen years old. His mother was a former tomboy that her baby fat lost overnight, they would say to me the good girl of good family with deep blue eyes. I always wanted my own eyes. "And so Alyse Myers begins his memoir of his mother and raised in Queens, New York, a blue collar neighborhood in 1960.

The lastChapter concludes with "I hugged my daughter. I was the daughter of my mother." So perhaps suggests, in history as a story between mother and daughter relationship with its ups and downs, but had a happy life for Alyse. Ah, but it is the story of who you think you are? located in the beginning and end.

Instead, who do you think you are? Alyse is a story of growing up with two sisters in a house where the parents for what seemed like never fought again.Alyse more of a "Daddy's Girl" was when his sisters, and so is gone, who had traveled much of what Alyse knew she was unhappy. His mother would hang the leather belt great to see, so they knew that they are not afraid to use it on them. Living under constant fear and in this dysfunctional family, it is surprising that the person Alyse survives today.

Often she cried his mother and hold responsible for everything going wrong that was. When his mother wasangry, he would insult Alyse blaring and constant accusations. Unlike her sisters, Alyse has been done, as everything that was wrong and she felt her mother was adamant. Therefore, the order, if they get them, they said Alyse "Who do you think you are?".

If Alyse eleven, his father died and his world crashed around them. The arguments with her mother was getting worse until it thinks that a teenager does not help to keep more distance, but couldnot like her mother, the abuse did not show any borders. It 's only later in life, when her mother falls ill and dies, Alyse which can have some reconciliation with her. If Alyse had a baby girl, her mother had shown that a wooden box Alyse thought maybe something made by her father in a shop class.

He asked what his true character and his, his mother said he discovered after he died ... would be the gift that would leave Alyse. So whenAlyse mother dies, is the only thing he really wants, when she and her sisters go through the things her mother's apartment where he lived the last years and where he died. Alyse wants to open there for twelve years, until she has her daughter. What is here? Alyse there anything more painful? If it is to explain some of the actions of his mother over the years, or will simply be blank?

I read this memoir, as the style of a simple woman Myers' isLetter was well designed and easy to read as if speaking directly to you. I was also able to find it fast and above all I wanted to know what to read into this box. Alyse Myers is much more to come out and tell the world that their mother ... normally taboo and a guarantee of failure hated writing.

But in this essay, is an essential part of the truth comes out and helps to understand Mrs. Myers 'actions and the impact their parents' relationshiphas on her life as wife and mother. And finally there are the boxes, the reader can really think of this story long after you are done. Recommend this for those who enjoy a well written pleadings. The Library Journal named in his review: "Your journey has universal resonance for myriad readers. I could not agree more.
