Book Review, "Dreams from My Father"

"Dreams from My Father" is a moving story about the early years of President Obama. It focuses on his race and heritage. It 's the journey of a young man trying to discover themselves in their roots. Along the way there are friends and challenges to stimulate him. "Dreams from My Father" is an elegant and engaging reading.

Composed in 1996, showed Barack Obama roots, their findings, and left an impression on him. The book begins with Obama as a young boy living in Hawaii withhis mother and his parents. He has to say no memories of his father, only stories that his mother and grandparents. Obama comes from a mixed heritage - a white mother and black father, who lives in Kenya. His mother is open-minded, idealistic, in a sense that the world as naive in another. His grandparents love him unconditionally. As a boy, his mother married a man from Indonesia and go to live there. Obama speaks lovingly of his stepfather and learned many life lessons from him,But unfortunately, his mother, his relationship with his step-father did not last. His mother send him back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents so he can attend a prestigious school in Hawaii. Soon, his mother and sister back to Hawaii, but he stays with his grandparents gave him a sense of permanence. He learns the strengths and weaknesses of his grandfather, but never really come to him as the father figure who is trying to see.

Obama has an encounter with his father when he was ten yearsin Hawaii. Obama is a bit 'in awe, a little' overwhelmed. His father is not a long visit and leave Obama with more questions than answers.

The book then goes on to cover the life of Obama as a community organizer in Chicago. It 'hard work that is rarely rewarded, but Obama, we are all his.
