Five reasons for more products

Mark Twain wrote: "The man who does not read good books are not better than the man who can 't."

Walt Disney said: "There is more wealth in books than in all the pirate loot on Treasure Island."

And most recently taught Theodor Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) us, "The more you read, the more things you know. The more you learn, the more places you` ll go. "

I share these quotes with you for two reasons. First, I believe and agree with each of them. Second, read the biographies of each of these men, I know, that in practice what they preach in these lines.

I firmly believe that in this short article, I probably won `t be able to convince a reader of books, if you were in the past the port` t (although I'll try). My goal is more modest. My goal is to choose to read a short biography. I think the experience will have a much deeper, and serves as the most convincing argument to be an avid reader for youthan any words I can now take place in front of you.

Most people tend to read books of a certain type of book they want. Some of you reading novels, some even some kind of focus, as science fiction or mysteries. Some laws of self-help or personal growth. Some read a lot and to concentrate largely only in their profession.

Reading a great biography (or autobiography) can be as exciting as your favorite thriller, more valuable and useful lessons to offer than mostbestselling self-help to provide professional development and more wisdom than you are probably correct.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Here are five reasons to read the biography of an election is a choice that will benefit you in many ways.

Five Reasons

They allow you to stand on the shoulders of giants. In 1670 Sir Isaac Newton wrote in a letter to his friend Robert Hooke, "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." This is exactlywhat to read biographies, it is possible - you can see further, because of what people have achieved this. Although not every biography about a "giant" but most are (and you can safely choose from this list). But even if the person you `re-reading is despicable and not worthy of praise or admiration, it's probably still a lot of lessons from their life experiences and practices obtained - even though most are" things that you don `t want to do.

Remember thatHistory repeats itself. George Santayana wrote in 1905: "Those who can not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." It was true long before then, so it was true, and it hasn `t changed today. To learn more about the real experiences of the other is the context for decisions and consequences that we all face. History (recent or remote), it will happen again, because those who make history were and are, people. One of the best ways to take from the experiences of others throughRead biographies of historical figures, not academic tomes on the history.

It promotes self-discovery. A good self-help book or a professional development outline concrete steps, tools, techniques and approaches to try. These shortcuts can be useful and successful to help you get results and improvements in almost every area of your life. A biography, to be on the other hand, will not as direct. These are the ideas and strategies to explore yourself through the stories andThe experience of others. This discovery learning process is often much more satisfactory, and most are more sustainable than reading a list of steps.

They allow you to see the world in new ways. Instead, you focus on your professional discipline, to see how you and your colleagues to see things often give reading from someone from another era, a different background or a different set of life experiences that new perspectives. In truth, most of the majorThe innovations are not out of an idea of a discipline situation, or industry and to adapt to another. Reading biographies is a great way to do this.

Mentors to give away. If you have the life of Abraham Lincoln, Gandhi, Churchill or anyone else I have read, she had a taste in his soul, and now have the advantage, or "know" them. These people can be your tutor at a distance, if you leave yourself the chance to believe whatAdvice I could give, or what they may be in a situation or a decision to try to do.

We hope that those who have at least five reasons to think he took a biography, see you soon! Think of a person I've always found attractive or interesting, even if you aren `t quite sure why. Then find a book about them (or written by them) and get started!

You will not regret. You will probably find more reasons to add it to your personal list of biographies for readingfun and profitable for you.

Crossing the Jordan River

Crossing the Jordan River

Product Details

Jacob Rosen writes in this fascinating and illuminating book about his experiences in both Cairo, Egypt and Amman, Jordan as an Israeli Diplomat. He has learned a great deal about Egyptian and Jordanian societies and also more about the Israeli character. Time and again, Mr. Rosen witnessed how Arabs and Western Cultures simply do not understand each other. The vignettes assembled in this book are based on real events. Mr. Rosen makes each of these stories stand on its own merit. The approach is anthropological, rather than political, and maybe through sharing these stories, this book can explain why and how the Arabs and the Israelis (and perhaps the West) fail to understand one another. They also show that after all is said and done, we are human beings who share the same concerns and inspirations.

Value beyond sport

Would not it be wonderful role models out there in community sports, fills the newspapers and television news with their positive stories of exploits. Imagine all the high-profile athletes inspire the next generation of athletes and the community, more people to be themselves. Unfortunately, this is not often the case with the media jump on any bad boy image or social behavior of an athlete.

Zig Ziglar says "Ability can come, but takeCharacter to keep you there. "I think it takes a combination of desire for a true champion to understand and live by the values of the samples. The values are the important things for someone.

How many times have you heard or used the excuse - 'It is like I am! " This was a regular, a top-class players used to justify his behavior off the field when he was constantly on-the limits of his team. Despite requests to mitigate his behavior continued to bespeak frankly and with his mind because "this is how I am!" I believe that teamwork is not as high as values in its glory, or perhaps a character expression.

In reality there should be ours, as we retreat now. It is not fantastic news! If the way you are not serving, your team and the result you get when you can take action to make changes. Create a new one.

Our unconscious mind is a wonderful thing and flexible, and when we are aware of thoughts,Limit values and behaviors that even we can go on them to change. We should be better than a set of values and the results we want as we want to achieve.

When I looked at the values in the context of my career I had considered financial reward is very low. I still work hard to be responsible, team focused to make a difference for others, and contentment. No wonder it is not always financially and was the point I was in a work environment where peoplewere dedicated to help and contribute more than well paid for it.

With coaching and training company aimed at thinking, I went out with a new set of values in the "Making a Difference" and financial reward could sit comfortably side by side. In the past I thought I would sacrifice my own well-being for the welfare of others. What I discovered is that not only compatible, they are really connected. What better way to make a difference, as itsabundant financially able to give my time and money for others.

I looked in the values of the world most famous and most popular champions. From reading biographies of Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Roger Federer, Greg Norman and Tiger Woods, to name a few, I found that all share common values: integrity, responsibility and family. I believe that these values a strong foundation for a successful model for future athletes and asuccessful post-sports career.

To find out what are the values that best served, watching others have created success for themselves and discover what they value. Perhaps there is someone in your area, or maybe someone will be publicized in the media. Can you guess what they would consider important in their life, or read the biography. Find out what other tick so you and your own life to add value to create a similar success.
